On the way, a painting of a reflection on the journey of the soul
The painting "On the Way" presents a female figure in deep meditation on the pathways of life, ready to face everything with serenity. Against the white background of the paper, a circle of blue hues appears, evoking both the sky and the underwater world. The entire background contributes to this duality, but in all cases, it reflects peace and serenity. The edges of this circle are adorned with a climbing plant with black leaves. From this background, other plants also rise, black in color, symbolizing both terrestrial and marine gestation.
What adds to the mystery are the bubbles scattered throughout the background. These spheres, initially light blue, take on a purple hue in the lower quarter of the painting, while they become yellow and golden in the upper part. These elements raise questions: Is this an underwater world or a fantastic universe?
In front of this circular background stands a young woman. Her long red hair spreads like a cloud or floats, evoking vibrant energy. With her eyes closed and lips pursed, she appears to be deeply reflecting, almost at a standstill. A solar symbol tattooed on her forehead reveals a connection to the cosmos, while a small black heart under each eye adds a touch of mystery. She wears a light pink top with loose, puffy sleeves, covered by a short-sleeved dress. The collar and belt of the dress are blue on a brown background, while the lower part of the garment forms a nearly oval, puffed skirt. On her shoulder, a solar symbol identical to the one on her forehead is embroidered, surrounded by plant motifs that embellish the entire outfit. The center of the skirt is decorated with a large red-burgundy plant motif.
In her hand, she holds a long walking stick, a symbol of support for her long pilgrimages.
This young woman inspires calm and serenity. She evokes a hermit journeying along the roads in search of truth, but even this expert of life's pathways must sometimes stop, breathe, and reflect on her journey. Where is she in this quest? What direction will she take before resuming the path of existence?
The painting "On the Way" invites us to contemplate this meditative pause, where the external world and inner life blend to offer a unique perspective on life and its journeys. The richness of the details, colors, and symbols opens up an infinite field of interpretations, allowing each viewer the freedom to project their own dreams and reflections.
