Waiting

Waiting, a painting of a woman in a meditation of boredom

The painting "Waiting" is a work centered on patience and resilience, where a young woman meditates on the passage of time in a state of boredom-filled anticipation.

Against the white background of the paper, a light blue frame stands out, decorated with white bubbles. Inside, the ripples evoke an aquarium, a microcosm where everything seems suspended. Dancing seaweed unfurls within it, some in green and yellow, others made up of strings of leaves and white spheres. The water, fluid and relentless, becomes a symbol of infinite patience, always moving forward, slowly, but never stopping. It is gentle, sculpting the rocks, yet determined, linking the living with their environment in an eternal cycle. The aquarium, with its ripples and bubbles, mirrors the psyche, where thoughts and emotions flow gently, without disruption.

In the foreground, a young woman sits on the floor, her knees drawn up to her chest. Her body, seen in profile, contrasts with her face turned toward the viewer. Her long red hair, held in place by a dark blue headband dotted with light bubbles, cascades around her, almost blending with the surrounding water. On her forehead, a solar symbol is delicately tattooed, while two small black hearts under her eyes add a touch of mystery and poetry to her expression. Her closed eyes and slightly pursed lips convey an inner serenity mixed with subtle melancholy.

She wears a short-sleeved dark blue dress, adorned with the same solar symbol as the one on her forehead. A green belt cinches the outfit, embroidered with red flowering plants and punctuated with bubble motifs, a direct echo of the aquatic world. In this state of waiting-meditation, black plants begin to grow on her body, illustrating an organic connection to nature and an acceptance of the cycles of life and transformation. They seem to embody a paradox: stillness in waiting gives birth to life, in a fertile and silent resilience.

What is she truly waiting for? An answer to an inner question, a sense of peace, or simply the passage of time, that faithful companion which, like water, always follows its course?
