Thought :
When a heart begins to beat, it becomes the soil in which a dream will one day blossom. For some hearts, it happens very quickly. And for others, it takes longer. But no matter how long it takes for that dream to grow, there is no point in comparing it to others. A dream is unique.
The painting "Deep in every heart sleeps a dream" transports the viewer into a fantastical world where the boundary between the real and the imagined fades away, creating a scene rich in mystery and symbolism.
The scene takes place in an enchanting forest, where nature seems alive and intimately connected to dreams. Two trees dominate the landscape, their wavy trunks evoking a silent dance. One, with dark green leaves and light blue veins, symbolizes vitality and energy. The other, with its red trunk and white veins, exudes an aura of mystery, as if recalling deep passions and the stirrings of the heart. Between their intertwined branches, a sky in shades of blue and pink stretches out, dotted with luminous stars. These stars, resembling small moons or suns, enhance the cosmic and timeless nature of the scene.
The ground teems with life, with dense vegetation that almost seems to protect the young woman at the center of the composition. Thick bushes and a variety of flowers in shades of blue, pink, red, and white add a vibrant palette, reinforcing the idea of a place where dreams take root and flourish.
The young woman, the central figure in the painting, embodies a divine or mystical presence. Her very long black hair, swept by an invisible breeze, forms an intense cloud, speckled with stars and shimmering galaxies. This hair appears to be a portal to the universe itself, underscoring her close connection with the cosmos. The plants adorning her ears, keeping her hair from covering her eyes, symbolize the harmony between nature and celestial forces.
The heart floating between her hands, illuminated with an almost supernatural white glow, appears both fragile and powerful. This red heart, marked with the solar symbol also tattooed on her forehead, may represent the essence of the dream that slumbers within every being. The glow emanating from it recalls that of stars, as if each dream were a star ready to illuminate a life.
The woman's posture, with her arms outstretched, expresses a deep intention. The raised upper hand, placed above the heart, seems to infuse a benevolent energy, while the lower hand, providing support, maintains this delicate balance. Her intense gaze, lowered toward the heart, reflects extreme concentration, almost as if she were reading the secrets it contains.
Her attire, a blend of natural elements and cosmic influences, reinforces her mystical aura. The beige skirt, secured by a red belt with white dots, unfolds into two contrasting panels: one black adorned with purple flowers, the other purple with lighter flowers. Her top, matching the skirt, is decorated with red and blue plant motifs, symbolizing the cycle of life and the diversity of dreams.
This painting seems to explore universal themes of connection to dreams and their role in our lives. The forest, with its vibrant trees and multicolored flowers, could symbolize the unconscious—a fertile place where every detail holds meaning. The stars and galaxies visible in the woman's hair reinforce the idea that our dreams are connected to something larger, an inner cosmos that reflects the outer universe.
The heart, floating between her hands, is a powerful symbol of life and latent potential. Its white glow could represent the spark of hope or the raw energy of an unfulfilled dream. The fact that it shares the solar symbol with the young woman suggests a deep connection between her and the heart, as if she were the guardian or guide of this dream in the making.
Finally, the woman's ambivalent attitude, both focused and nurturing, leaves room for interpretation: is she nourishing this dream, giving it the strength to grow, or is she reading it, understanding its hidden messages? This ambiguity echoes the complexity of our own dreams, which require both patience, introspection, and action to come to fruition.
