Thought :
Your moon shines above the stars. You don’t realize it but you shine for one or more stars. Don’t look away from them because these stars that gravitate around you need your light.
The painting These stars that gravitate around you is a luminous and introspective work that illustrates the richness of human relationships. It evokes the way each encounter, each bond, contributes to our inner constellation, while emphasizing the importance of being a source of light for those who orbit around us.
The vertical composition begins with an earthly scene at the bottom, represented by a vegetal ground. The plants and leaves, in soft blue-green hues, symbolize the grounding and foundation of our human experiences. As the painting ascends, the palette transitions to rich red-burgundy tones, conveying a rise toward emotion, the intangible, and the celestial.
The transition between earth and sky is marked by a myriad of white points, forming constellations and scattered stars in an infinite space. These elements embody the relationships, memories, and connections that define our existence.
Behind the central figure, a light rectangle in shades of gray-white emerges, evoking a door, an opening to an inner world where memories and relationships intertwine like stars forming a personal galaxy. This detail suggests that these constellations are not only external but are an integral part of ourselves.
The young woman is depicted as a mysterious, almost ethereal being. Her silhouette seems to blend into a long black hair that stretches from a tip touching the ground to a dense cloud rising toward the sky. This hair, dotted with stars, reinforces the idea of a connection between the earthly and the cosmic, between the real and the infinite.
The woman's face, resting on her arm in a thoughtful and peaceful posture, emerges from this starry cloud. She seems both an observer and a participant in the universe she embodies.
The solar symbol tattooed on her forehead and the crescent moon delicately placed on her ear amplify the astral symbolism. A bright sun, positioned behind her head, acts as a halo, reinforcing her role as a guide or light for the stars around her. These elements may represent her closest relationships: friends, family, partners, those who help her shine and, in return, benefit from her radiance.
Through its rich symbolism and evocative palette, this painting invites reflection on our place in the universe of human relationships. It reminds us that we are both brilliant stars for others and constellations shaped by those we meet. It also emphasizes the importance of recognizing our own light and the light we offer to others.
