Thought :
You feel your heart tossed by the waves of the storm. The wind blows and you still wonder how long the storm will last. But know that the calm will come and that you are not alone. The storm is what makes us grow. If it did not exist, we could not move forward. With it, you can unload the heavy things that hindered your journey. Worrying will not change the outcome, so stay calm and confident, and you will see the storm from a different angle.
The scene of the painting, titled "Calm at the Heart of the Storm," takes place within a magical mirror with a rectangular shape and rounded corners, like an open window into an inner world. This mirror appears to float in an immaculate space, where delicate shades of pastel purple, ranging from soft lilac to misty mauve, blend seamlessly. The thick frame of the mirror, richly adorned with wave-like patterns and black and white dots, acts as a boundary between the external storm and the inner sanctuary it holds.
Inside the mirror, small clouds suspended in this ethereal universe add a sense of lightness and movement, enhancing the contrast between the turmoil of the atmosphere and the serenity of the central figure. Plants seem to break through the limit imposed by the frame, spilling over its edges toward the heart of the scene. The fine black leaves and large leaves with red veins may symbolize both fragility and strength, intertwined in this introspective space.
Above and below the female figure, two delicate hands, adorned with golden and green bracelets, seem to belong to the same benevolent entity. The upper hand, palm facing downward, radiates a gentle energy, like a descending blessing. In contrast, the lower hand, palm facing upward, acts as a supportive base, ready to receive or transmit invisible forces. From each hand emanate glowing spheres, alternating between gold and red, gently floating between them and the female figure, conveying a subtle exchange of nurturing energy.
The female character, seated in a meditative position, embodies both vulnerability and resilience. Her knees drawn up and embraced by her arms reflect a need to center her energies, while her face, tilted toward her knees, expresses deep introspection. Her red hair floats slightly around her, as if stirred by an imperceptible breeze. A small delicate plant placed behind her ear adds a touch of nature and connection to the living world.
On her forehead, a solar tattoo seems to radiate discreetly, symbolizing the inner light that persists despite the storm. Beneath her eye, a small black heart could represent the marks left by emotions, both scars and life’s traces.
Her attire, rich in detail, reflects a blend of tribal and dreamlike influences. Her long purple-green robe, dotted with stars, envelops her silhouette in a mystical glow. The wide sleeves of her gray top, decorated with vegetal patterns of white leaves and red flowers, evoke harmony between humanity and nature. The red shoulder pads, adorned with white designs, and the wide pink belt, decorated with blue flowers, add vibrant touches of color, symbols of hope and beauty in adversity.
The overall painting seems to evoke the duality of life: the external storm and the inner calm. The shades of purple, often associated with spirituality and meditation, highlight the process of centering and elevation. The plants that break the frame remind us that growth and self-overcoming have no fixed limits.
The glowing spheres and hands convey a universal message: even in the midst of turmoil, invisible forces watch over us, ready to offer their support if we open ourselves to them. The solar and vegetal motifs of the central figure illustrate a rebirth after the trial, a reconciliation between the destructive and constructive elements of life.
