Wolf and little girl

Wolf and little girl, painting of unexpected harmony

The painting "Wolf and Little Girl" depicts a touching scene that illustrates an unusual and evocative friendship between a little girl and a large wolf, a relationship that contrasts with our classic perception of the wild predator.

The background of the composition is dominated by a large, richly decorated rug on which the two protagonists lie. This rug features a harmonious combination of natural and geometric patterns. A border of ivy with small red leaves frames the whole, creating an impression of a living, organic frame. A quarter of the rug’s surface is distinguished by a dark green background, adorned with three panels of gracefully spiraling white ivy. The rest of the rug displays a gray background decorated with geometric patterns—circles, ovals, and rectangles—in shades of red and golden yellow.

At the center of this scene, a large wolf rests in a circle, its tail gently brushing its muzzle in a posture of total serenity. The wolf bears a solar symbol tattooed on its forehead, accompanied by small black triangles, giving the animal a mystical and sacred dimension.

In the hollow of the circle formed by the wolf’s body, a young red-haired girl is peacefully curled up. She lies in a ball, her hand under her head, her hair spread along her body. Her head rests on the wolf’s flank, reinforcing the idea of absolute trust between them. Like the wolf, she wears a solar symbol tattooed on her forehead, along with a small black heart beneath her eye, evoking subtle and emotional connections. She is dressed in a long, light green gown, belted with a wide, blue-green fabric adorned with white botanical patterns. A red embroidery decorated with flowers adorns the sleeve of her gown, while an identical solar symbol to the wolf’s is embroidered on her shoulder.

Near her feet and the wolf’s tail, a climbing plant with black flowers seems to grow and wind around them. This detail suggests an immutable relationship, frozen in time, as if this moment were destined to last forever. The entire scene creates an impression of timeless harmony and a deep bond between the little girl and the wolf, a friendship that defies conventions and expectations, while inspiring reflection on the nature of relationships and the connections that transcend natural barriers.
